Dear Professor Bork:
\J There is no "interactive journal" \F1per se\F0. The SIGART is now
produced and is available in the NLS system at the Stanford Research Institute's
Augment Research Center. In this form, it is available through the ARPA net.
I think we should move toward having all publications in computer form,
and the ACM should start by making its journals available in computer form as
well as in the normal manner. I pursued this a bit with Jean Sammet and Erich
Weiss (separately), and they were somewhat negative, but I believe the matter
could be pushed further if someone would really pursue it.
Enclosed is a somewhat relevant paper of mine.\.
Sincerely yours,
John McCarthy
